Possibility and pride: showing up as only you can

June 2026

It’s time to be proud, y’all! Confluence is delightfully queer-owned and led. As with all communities relegated to the margins, the brilliance and beauty of queer and trans existence can’t be confined to a single month. It would take lifetimes to express all the versions of the queer experience.

As summer returns to the northern hemisphere, we bask in the notion that we are still here. Regardless of unconstitutional executive orders or partisan politics that attempt to erase us- we are still here. Despite the onslaught of misguided thinking, bigotry and harms experienced on our community- we are still here.

Our resilience is resonant. We are constantly creating pathways of persistence. What we experience is an expression of what is possible. I hold you in tenderness.

As adrienne maree brown offers in her radical gratitude spell,

“i can never know
the struggles you went through to get here,
but i know you have swum upstream
and at times it has been lonely”

It’s a point of pride that Confluence lives into queered values of authenticity, inclusion, community care. It is with courage and conviction that Confluence’s offerings are as shamelessly values-aligned, rooted in care and desiring the unfolding of our collaborative, collective experience in our organizations and communities.

Remember, pride is not just a party, it’s also a r/evolution. Who we are is future facing. We are enough.

Looking for a partner in figuring out your work in the world? Need an accountabilibuddy in making known (or unknown) changes? Want support in leading a coalition, network, organization or group that is values-aligned and collaborative? Looking forward,

What Confluence is up to & offering

What if we conceptualized how our communities work as being a response to various inputs, legacies, cultural capacities? What if our communities had a genetic structure, just like we do, and we could manipulate our community’s DNA with small shifts that led to large impacts over time?

Join us for June’s Grow Circle, “Strengthening Social Fabric and Mapping Community DNA,” featuring Teri Garstka. Teri is a researcher, director of Kansas University’s Social Innovation Lab, and the founder of Community Innovation Lab- an incubator that helps put theory into practice.

Access to the network is a great way to invest in the development of your team. Or maybe you know someone who would be an ideal fit for the network but who can’t make the empower membership work for their budget. If you’d like to purchase a subscription for someone else, beautiful! Reach out and let’s make it happen.

Confluence provides freelance project management to nonprofits. With over fifteen years in the nonprofit sector, I’ve learned a few things about the how and the what of it all. If you have a niche need, particularly in the facilitation and project management space, reach out! I’ve supported nonprofits getting started, getting grounded, and getting funded, and I’d love to help you.

Partner offerings & collabs

Confluence is one node is a network of movement builders, change-makers, and influential work happening across our country and world. Check out what our friends are up to.

Unity Effect: Regenerative Evaluation

Unity Effect is hosting a community of practice for their living paper, Regenerative Evaluation. Whether you have engaged with the work or not, if you’re interested in joining the community of practice, you can join by filling out a five-minute survey.

Resonance Network: WeGovern

We’re living in a time when decisions are being made all around us—often without us. What does it mean to step into governance differently? What if governance could be something we practice together—rooted in dignity, mutual care, and interdependence?

This is How WeGovern: An Applied Learning Space is a six-session journey for those ready to explore these questions in practice.

The Cauldron

The Cauldron, offered by Candis Fox, is a new online ritual space for people who are ready to do their money work with the full force of ceremony, community, and the Celtic Wheel of the Year behind them.

Mutual aid: where to give your coins

Generosity flows from our inherent understanding that abundance exists. Money is a tool. In the hands of these great initiatives, it will be used to mend, tend, and support us.

  • Help a Family Prevent Eviction and Secure Stable Housing. Funds will be used to cover rent to prevent eviction, move if relocation becomes necessary, secure stable housing and fund startup costs for a small bookkeeping biz so the family can work toward long-term stability.
  • Support Safe Haven’s Impactful Mission. At Safe Harbor Haven, we believe everyone deserves a stable place to call home. Since we opened in October 2025, we’ve seen firsthand how a safe environment can completely change a person’s outlook on life. Every share and every dollar gets us closer to housing the next person in need.
  • Help Folks on the Frontlines of Unsheltered Anchorage. Trusted Connections is an Alaska-Native led nonprofit facilitating Indigenous-centered trauma healing circles, providing culturally responsive social services for unsheltered neighbors in Anchorage, and acting as safe liaisons for visitors from the village.

These will be updated monthly. If you have a need that folks can help with virtually, email them to me (with links!) by the first Friday of each month.
