April 2026
Admittedly, I’m not a marketing guru. I’m not an expert in sales or running a business. I find myself scrambling to stay afloat in an attention economy game that I don’t really want to be playing. I am fortified by my systems of support, my powerful practices, and the deep knowing in my bones that things can be better. I push away the constant advertising, the quick fixes, the relentless droning on that I need to nip and tuck my business into something that isn’t, well, mine.
So I continue to sing my siren song from my corner of the Universe (I see you, rural middle Tennessee!), and welcome weary travelers to my shores. How can I help you? What medicine can I offer that you are needing?
Confluence meets people and organizations where they’re at and supports you as you get to where you want to go. Folks may not understand the abstraction of “change work,” but they typically get the reality of recovery. So, you could also think of me and the work I do through Confluence as the remedy for our collective addiction to the status quo. Are you current ways of working actually working for you? Are you ready to make a change?
We can do things differently. We can lead differently. We can care for ourselves and our teams differently. We can structure our organizations and plan for what’s next differently. Different isn’t always better, but it is, well, different, which is especially important if what is is not aligning with our vision, mission, values.
I’m shortening my newsletter, so you won’t see some of the pieces you may have before. I’m going to move some things over to Confluence’s LinkedIn (good and growing) and our Facebook (brand new!) Give a follow on either of those platforms for real-time updates, offerings, and cool stuff alerts.
And if you need to take a break, join us on Thursdays in April for Breaktime Breathwork. It’s thirty minutes of restorative body-based practices to help you rest and reset. Free for subscribed members of the New Leaders Network. Or it’s an investment of $55 for folks not subscribed to the network.
Looking forward,

Mutual aid: where to give your coins
Generosity flows from our inherent understanding that abundance exists. Money is a tool. In the hands of these great initiatives, it will be used to mend, tend, and support us.
- Help Andy Stay in His Home. Funds will be used to help keep Donelson, TN local housed after his rent has doubled and he’s experiencing some health issues.
- Help a Family Prevent Eviction and Secure Stable Housing. Funds will be used to cover rent to prevent eviction, move if relocation becomes necessary, secure stable housing and fund startup costs for a small bookkeeping biz so the family can work toward long-term stability.
- Support Roosevelt Students in Active Arts. Students in Minneapolis, MN at Roosevelt High School are working with local artists to create a permanent art installation for their school building that tells the story of recent ICE activity and student resistance.
- Help Fund Coaching Equity! These funds will be used to help Felix Sutherland of Joyful Divergence offer coaching sessions on an entirely pay-what-you-can scale, because often the people who need support the most are the folks with the least access to capital.
- Help Folks on the Frontlines of Unsheltered Anchorage. Trusted Connections is an Alaska-Native led nonprofit facilitating Indigenous-centered trauma healing circles, providing culturally responsive social services for unsheltered neighbors in Anchorage, and acting as safe liaisons for visitors from the village.
These will be updated monthly. If you have a need that folks can help with virtually, email them to me (with links!) by the first Friday of each month.
